Valiant Joins in Sponsoring Alligator Hunt for Veterans with Benghazi Hero, John TIG Tiegen, Others
Updated: Oct 8, 2020
Last weekend, Valiant was thrilled to join in sponsoring a Shadow Warrior Riders Motorcycle Club alligator hunt down in Florida, in partnership with Stark Gratitude, to support of the Beyond the Battlefield Foundation, an organization that provides resources for wounded warriors, soldiers with PTSD & emotional challenges, families of veterans, and other major solutions for veterans that have returned home from tours overseas.
Groups of veterans, foundation members from several charities, the Valiant team, and many other supporters of these great causes boarded airboats and took off into the everglades for hours of 'gator hunting under the sun.
Among the hunt were many brave US vets, including the well-known American hero, John "TIG" Tiegen. Tig is the founder of the Beyond the Battlefield foundation, and is the co-author of "13 Hours", the harrowing story of survival during the Islamist terrorist attacks on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi in September of 2012. The book was later made into a movie which was a major success.
TIG was one of the brave security team members that saved many lives during the attacks that day. He spent years with the US Military before joining security forces within the CIA's Global Response Staff, completing over 40 tours overseas on low-profile, high-threat security deployments.
Also among the group was longtime Valiant friend, Mike Stark. Mike is the founder of Stark Gratitude, an organization that, in partnership with Beyond the Battlefield, donates a portion of all proceeds to Wounded Warriors Outdoors, as well as The Children's Home Society of Central Florida.
